According to official data, in El Salvador, the elderly population over 60 years of age represents 12% of the total population. Many older adults are forced to work informally or beg for money on the streets; living and developing under undignified conditions, unable to meet basic needs such as food, education, social security and health.
Within this group, we find pastors who worked for years in evangelism and church planting, and who, due to unexplained circumstances, were left without a home and a church that could protect them.
As a result of this need, in 2001, the home for the protection of the elderly pastor the Holy Spirit was founded and serves about 10 pastors who, at the end of their pastoral service, had no place to live.
The Ebenezer food bank aims to provide a basic food basket for the Holy Spirit Home and that includes milk, beans, rice, eggs, oil, flour, and personal hygiene products, which will be delivered every month, during a semester, thus supporting their food security.
In my heart, I am certain that through this project we will guarantee food to these men and women who invested their lives to bring the Gospel.
It is a way to take care of them until they are called by the Lord, and to tell them: we love you.
Do you want to join us?
For example, If you donate $25 we can buy eggs and beans; if we can get $50 we are available to buy milk, oil and toilet paper. And if we reach the goal, we will be able to complete the basic food basket for three months.
Thank you for being part of this project!
With much appreciation,
